The Frankfort Public Library District (FPLD) has two Prusa 3D printers that are used for Library programs and patron projects. FPLD cardholders who wish to have an object printed may submit a printing request using the form below.

What is 3D Printing?

3D Printing, or additive manufacturing, is a method of creating a three-dimensional object by building up layers of material based on a computer created design.

What does it cost?

Please see the Lab Material Fees sheet to view the current price for 3D printing filament.  The Library will provide an estimated cost prior to printing your design.

Are there any restrictions?

• 3D Printing Terms of Service
• The library cannot print designs that exceed 10” x 8” x 5” (25cm x 20cm x 12cm).
• The library cannot print designs that exceed 8 hours of printing time.
• The library can only print in 1 color of filament.

Where do I get ideas or designs for printing?

To find free downloadable files by other designers, try sites such as Thingiverse or Makerworld.

To start making your own files, try exploring free 3D design software such as Tinkercad, SketchUp, Sculptris, or Blender. 

How do I submit a design to be printed?

• Read the 3D Printing Terms of Service.
• Fill out the form below and attach the file that you wish to print.  Your file must be in .STL format.
