2026 Summer Reading Program
June 1 to July 31, 2026
Get ready for a summer of reading and creativity!
Important Dates:
June 1, 2026 registration opens.
July 31, 2026 online reading logs and prize drawings close at 11:59 p.m.
Paper reading logs must be returned to the Adult Services or Youth Services desks no later than 5:00 p.m.
August 1, 2026 last day to claim reading prizes.
Returning & New Beanstack users can visit http://frankfortlibrary.beanstack.org to register for summer reading or create your free account
Patrons who wish to participate on paper may visit the Adult Services or Youth Services desks during regular business hours to register and pick up a paper reading log.
Adult Summer Reading Program
Each book read earns 1 digital ticket for a prize drawing. Audiobooks count too!
- You may earn a maximum of 10 digital tickets.
- Tell us which drawing you want each digital ticket to go into by writing the name of the drawing in the space provided.
Additional prizes:
Read 1 book: Choice of free item from a local vendor.
Read 3 books: Choice of FPLD-themed prize or free item from a local vendor.
Read 6 books: Choice of FPLD-themed prize or free item from a local vendor.
Participants must be 18 years of age or older and have a valid Frankfort Public Library District library card.
New for 2026! Play our “Find the Flower” Scavenger Hunt and earn a bonus of 2 additional digital tickets. Look under Activity Badges in Beanstack, download the paper directions here, or pick up a copy of the directions at the Adult Services or Youth Services desks.
Youth and Teen Summer Library Program Guidelines
Each week there are 3 ways to earn prizes and tickets for our grand prizes:
- READ: 0-5th Grade – 100 minutes 6th-12th Grade – 200 Minutes
- ATTEND: Library Program or Community Event
- COMPLETE: Weekly Family Activity provided by the Library

100 Books Before High School
What: Continue your love of reading with 100 Books Before High School! Challenge yourself to read new stories, expand your knowledge, and read new perspectives. Earn prizes every 20 books.
How It Works:
Sign Up on Beanstack.
Tags for 10
What: A reading program for kids in Grades K-5. Collect as many tags as you can to celebrate reading!
When: Starts December 1, 2025. Year-Round and On-Going.
How It Works:
Sign up on Beanstack or print out a paper bookmark.
Note: Non-Frankfort Library cardholders are welcome to participate using a paper log. Only Frankfort card-holders can register and track their progress on Beanstack.
Paper Bookmarks are also available at the Youth Services Desk.
Pick up your cord and starter tag at the Youth Services desk.
Read 10 books.
Track them on Beanstack or on your paper bookmark.

Wild About Reading – 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten
What: A reading program for children ages 0-6. Try to read 1,000 Books before your child enters kindergarten
When: Year-Round and On-Going.
How It Works:

100 | 200 | 300 | 400 | 500 | 600 | 700 | 800 | 900 | 1,000

Read 100 books and earn a sticker.
Read another 100 books and earn a sticker.
Keep going until you reach 500 books.
When you reach 500 books, earn a halfway prize.
Read and earn stickers until you reach 1,000 books.
At 1,000 books, earn a free book and a special completion certificate!

Read Widely 2026: The American Experience. JAN. 1 – MAR. 31, 2026
Celebrate the 250th birthday of the United States and challenge yourself to read something new!
Dates:
- January 1, 2026: Registration and online logs open at http://frankfortlibrary.beanstack.org.
- January 2, 2026: Paper logs may be picked up at the Adult Services Desk
- March 31, 2026: Paper logs due at Adult Services Desk by 5:00 p.m. Online logs close at 11:59 p.m.
- April 2, 2026: Prize drawing winners will be notified.
- April 4, 2026: Last day to claim prizes.
Rules:
- Register on Beanstack or pick up a paper log at the Adult Services desk.
- Choose a badge and read a book that meets the criteria for that badge. Unlock the badge by entering the title of the book that you read in the space provided.
- Each badge unlocked earns 1 digital ticket that can be entered into a prize drawing.
- Unlock 3 badges and get a choice of small prize (while supplies last)!
Read for a Lifetime Challenge is for Grades 9-12
Read for a Lifetime is a statewide reading program that targets high school students. This initiative promotes the enjoyment of reading by encouraging students to read both classic and contemporary literature and rewards them for their efforts. By participating in the program, students develop a love of books and reading that will last a lifetime.

- For students in Grades 9-12
- Read 13 books on the 2025 Read for a Lifetime List to earn a prize.
Note: Frankfort Public Library District has adjusted the grade levels that can participate in each challenge according to the needs of the Frankfort community. Any questions can be directed to the Frankfort Public Library Youth Services Department.
