It's that time of year again when I go to the middle schools to tell them about all the great books I've read since the last time I visited. Usually, I pick all the books myself and share my favorites, but this time round I had the other librarians each choose a couple. This way, you get more of a variety of styles to pick from. You can find all the books that I talked about this time in a couple of ways.
I love this time of year because I get to go to the schools and tell them about some of the great books I've read this past year. (See my list of Booktalk Books! You can also see my list on our pinterest page.) But I've read a lot more books than I have time to tell them about, not to mention the ones I've heard about and haven't had a chance to read yet.
These are videos of the same booktalks I did at Hickory Creek Middle School December 19th, 2011, and some of the ones I did at Summit Hill Middle School on December 13th, 2011. Looking for any of these books? Check on display in the Young Adult section of the library or alphabetical by the author's last name. Can't find it? Ask a librarian; that's what we're here for.
Ms. Sarah read these books, loved these books, and talked about these books: both at Summit Hill and Hickory Creek Middle Schools. If you're looking for the ones she's talked about, look for this cart in the Land of YA, teen area of the library. Don't see what you wanted? Ask a librarian to put a hold on one for you or show you how to put a hold on one yourself. Look for the handout on the cart for a list of all the books she talked about, too.
