INTERLIBRARY LOAN
Interlibrary Loan
The interlibrary loan service is restricted to Frankfort Library patrons only. Frankfort Public Library requests and sends items throughout the SWAN Catalog which includes over 80 public libraries. If an item is not available at the Frankfort Public Library District, request the item with the help of the library staff or do it online through the Swan Catalog http://swan.mls.lib.il.us/search/.
If our library system does not have the item we can also try to get it from other libraries all over the country using World Cat, http://www.worldcat.org. There is a $3.00 fee for items from outside Illinois to pay for shipping.
Pick up your items within 7 days of notification and remember to check them out. Items must be checked out on the same library card with which the hold was placed. When picking up a held item for another person, please bring their library card.
Reciprocal Borrowing
Reciprocal borrowing allows you to use the Frankfort Public Library Card at other SWAN libraries; their items can be viewed through the Swan Catalog http://swan.mls.lib.il.us/search/ . You can also use your Frankfort Library Card at Illinois libraries outside our library system. You can check out items directly from other libraries. Return items from other SWAN libraries to the Frankfort Public Library, and we will forward them on to the correct library.Information for Borrowing Libraries
